Gilbert Klingel took a number of remarkable photographs while on Inagua in 1930-1931 in the aftermath of the shipwreck and upon his return visit in 1938. He converted some of his photographs to Glass Lantern Slides that he hand painted and used in public presentations in 1930s and 1940s. Many of the Black and White photographs presented here have not been seen since the negatives were archived in the 1930s. This is a truly remarkable look back in time to a lonely and largely forgotten island.
